Pre-Operative / Skin Markings
The surgeon will make markings on the waist line before the start of the operation. You can help the surgeon by showing him the boundaries of the bikini or underwear that you normally wear. Next, you will be prepared for surgery by the nursing staff and the anesthesiologist.
Lifting the Skin
In the operating room, you will be put asleep. The incisions will be made along the pre-operative markings. The skin and fat will be raised. Incisions will be made around the belly button.

Identifying the Muscles
The tone of the underlying muscles will be examined. If there is a significant lack of tone of the abdominal muscles, the muscles will be tightened. The muscles will be brought closer together from an outside to inward direction. This will tighten the muscles along with decreasing the girth of the waistline.

Closing the Wounds
The excess skin and fat are pulled in a downward direction. The excess skin and fat are removed. The belly button is moved to a more superior position on the belly wall. The incisions are then closed. Drains are placed in the surgical site to collect any excess fluid accumulation. The scars will slowly heal and fade with time.
